About Pilots, Angels, and Other Falling Objects:
Madison Berkeley had everything going for her. She was an amazing baby, at least that's what her fighter pilot father used to say in those old video tapes: walked at eight months, ran at nine. She was just like him. Now, 15 years later, she's stuck in a wheelchair hoping for a cure to whatever mysterious disease took her legs away from her, while her father is grounded and looking for his next bottle of whiskey. As she and her parents make their way across the US to report to yet another miserable military assignment, her dream of someday walking again feels like it's crashing to the ground...that is, until their van breaks down in a small Nebraska town called Magic.
